R.I.P. Farrah and Michael

I had planned to do this beautiful homage to Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson on the ol' blog today, but I don't think I can say anything better than what Wendy has already. Honestly, anything I've got to add to it would be paltry, and I think she's said exactly what I've been trying to decipher in my feelings towards Michael Jackson for the past several years -- I've been mourning him for a long time. What is sort of pissing me off about the media coverage is that poor Farrah and her passing was almost literally pushed to the side as soon as Michael died. But maybe she wouldn't have minded it that way; she'd gotten classy like that in the past couple of years.

My two cents -- I'd forgotten that MJ could rock out, along with the dancing. And that's proven in this video of one of my favorite MJ songs...

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that we saw Farrah's death coming. Michael, while he looked like death for the last several years, was a bit more of a "shock."

My first thought after hearing about Farrah was that I hoped her passing would spur Ryan O'Neal and their son, Redmond, to finally get their crap together. Although at this stage in the game, it seems unlikely for Ryan.

Yep, Wendy said it all right so I didn't bother really saying much. Being a 12 year old girl listening to Thriller and Billie Jean for the first time can't be erased. MJ was a part of my history and I've decided to let the memories remain there as what they was, just sweet and simple.

Farrah was tough also but like Wendy said, I had heard she was sick.

It's like witnessing a part of our childhood dying.

Still they can stop pimping all things MJ any time now.
