What Was I Thinking?

I don't know what I was thinking when I decided to tackle the bedroom and do some decluttering. Most people don't know that most of my TBR is stored there and despite the interior designing people who say to make the bedroom an oasis of calm, I have just never been able to accomplish that with this many books. Oh my God, if my mother sees this, it will push her over the edge. Seriously. She's always known that I have pack rat tendencies, but in an apartment that rings in at just over 1000 square feet, a place I've lived for 14+ years -- I've achieved the monumental title of Queen Pack Rat. Oh, I'm not as bad as some of those poor people on Clean House, but it's still embarassing. In fact, Clean House is what actually got me started this a.m. on my current project (besides the fact that Mom arrives in 6 days).

So far, I've thinned out about 12 books from the vast sea I have in the bedroom, but there's really a lot more work to be done. Too much for me to tackle in time for company next weekend, but it's something I've needed to do for a while now. But I will say this -- I've found books that I forgot I had. It's like a mini book shopping trip!

Seriously, I'm a big fan of Rubbermaid totes. They're really ideal if book cases aren't an option. And you can even sort by genre. For example: Historical Romance, Author A-H could be in one tote. Heck, I've got a whole frickin' tote just for my Harlequins.
