Teetering Through Tuesday...

Mucinex became my best friend today -- BFF! The thing I hate about being sick is that it usually takes me forever to get over the coughing part. So, while I'm feeling much better and only feel like I'm breathing through a damp Kleenex (vs the wet sponge), I'm doin' alright. But, FINALLY, I think I may have found a cold medicine that may actually help me sound less like a mating water buffalo! Life is good...

I finished a book today -- thank God! STOP ME by Brenda Novak is the 2nd in her The Last Stand series, and while it took me a while to get through it, it's a testament to the fact that there are new romantic suspense authors on the rise. This one took place in New Orleans and the bayou and was both sexy AND suspenseful and just freaked me right the hell out. But I loved it. I know Novak is cemented as a well-loved series writer, but I think she may have found her niche in RS. She totally knows how to turn the scary and gore on and keep you turn the pages.

Let's see -- what else. Fall TV is here, and while I'm a slave to my TBR and it makes me its bitch, I tend to become a tv-holic when September hits as well. The season premiere week with CBS and NBC is at its best during the last week of September and I'm totally digging the new CBS show, The Mentalist. In fact, I think I'm digging CBS more for better quality tv shows. Unless it's ABC and Grey's Anatomy or Private Practice is on. I can't get me enough of Patrick Dempsey, lord ha' mercy! What I REALLY can't wait for is Showtime's season 3 of The Tudors, but don't get me started. Oh, and I love Dexter too -- but I love anything that involves serial killers, so this was a no brainer for me. I'm sick, I know...

Have I rambled enough? I've been glued to my DVR'ed episodes of Rachael Ray's 30-minute meals (yeah, I LOVE to cook as well -- look at the hips), so I feel like I'm trying to make up for lost time as much as she taaaallllkkksss. But I love her...

That's it! Fall makes me love everyone -- the humidity is low, the leaves are changing, clothes are that much cooler (bought some new Yanik jeans today!), and tv is finally back! Don't get me started on thinking about Christmas shopping, which I did some of yesterday....oy.

I've always wanted to try Brenda Novak and this one seems like a good one to start. ;-) I like New Orleans, the bayou, the whole works. :-)

Talking about Fall, it may seem strange to you (because I live in the tropics) but I like it too. Brisk air, lovely colours. ;-) The last time I was in your country, it was Fall (close to Halloween). I stayed with some friends in PA. They owned a house near a huge lake, surrounded by lots of trees ... the scenery was just gorgeous. I enjoyed the experience very much. My next goal is to visit during the winter! LOL
